The Giving Tree
A Pay-it-Forward Program for Those in Need
Most of our clients come to us because they are going through cancer treatments, dealing with lymphedema, or experiencing chronic pain. Unfortunately, many are also experiencing financial hardships. They need the services of BOH, but are not covered by insurance. The Giving Tree is a small way for us to reach out and help someone in need.
Once you aim your life toward doing what you love, how do you both make a living and serve those in need who cannot afford your services? Being an Oncology massage therapist and a lymph drainage specialist, this issue comes up a lot. People want the support of these therapies but are in hard financial straits. They struggle with huge medical bills and loss of income at the very time they most need support. Massage Therapists are not covered by insurance and so these people are often simply unable to pay for treatment. The last thing you want to do is not be able to help someone that could benefit from your services.
Other massage therapists specializing in this field experience the same problem, but a therapist in Massachusetts found the answer and has encouraged other therapists to do the same. Basically this is how it works. If you would like to give, you can make a donation at the front desk or online. ANY amount is greatly appreciated! The donation is put into a separate checking account designated for The Giving Tree.

The amount of the donation is then written on a leaf on the tree. A client in need can take a leaf of any amount and apply it to the bill – just like a coupon. No questions asked. It’s just that simple!
The therapists at Body of Health are thrilled to implement this program. Our mission is to help you hurt less, heal quicker and have a better quality of life. It is so exciting that we have a program in place so we can help more people when they need it the most. Paying it forward can be just that easy but the rewards can be priceless!
