From Brokenness to Breakthrough

My Story of Healing and Hope

Helping women expand their identities through health, purpose, and community—without sacrificing their roles as caregivers, professionals, or leaders.”

In 1998, Julie Mills-Watson’s world changed forever when her husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Thrust into a life she never imagined, she began a search—not just for treatments, but for hope. What she discovered was life-changing: the human body has an incredible ability to heal when given the right support.

Through both conventional and alternative therapies, Julie saw firsthand how lifestyle choices and proper nutrition could extend not just the length of life, but the quality of it. That experience ignited a passion that has guided her ever since. For more than 20 years, Julie has dedicated herself to helping others find their own path to better health—before a diagnosis forces them to. Because prevention is powerful.

A natural part of that mission was partnering with Juice Plus+, a simple and effective way to get the nutrients from 30 fruits and vegetables every day. For over two decades, Julie has shared this trusted solution as part of her holistic approach to wellness and healthy living.

Always open to exploring new, science-backed ways to support the body, Julie was recently introduced to LifeWave’s phototherapy technology—simple, wearable patches designed to activate the body’s own stem cells and awaken natural healing from the inside out. After witnessing remarkable results with her 86-year-old mother’s recovery, Julie became inspired to share this innovative, non-invasive approach to wellness with others.

Julie’s journey combines both heart and expertise. She holds a degree in Finance from Auburn University and is a Licensed Massage Therapist. She is also Lymphedema Certified with specialized training to work with oncology patients—experience that reflects her compassion, depth, and commitment to healing. Julie is the author of Here’s the Deal About Cancer, a heartfelt book chronicling her journey as a caregiver to her husband, a fighter pilot battling brain cancer. Through her story, she shines a light on how integrative therapies can support the body and nurture hope during life’s most challenging times.

Over the years, Julie has founded and led several wellness-centered businesses, including Body of Health and Life, a massage therapy clinic; a compression garment store for lymphedema and post-surgery recovery patients; and a Lymphatic Clinic focused on holistic healing and lymphatic health.

Today, Julie’s mission remains the same as it was the day her journey began—to help people hurt less, heal quicker, and have a better quality of life. She believes that health is not just about recovery—it’s about resilience, prevention, and living with purpose. Through her growing wellness community, she continues to inspire others to take charge of their health and unlock the body’s incredible ability to heal itself.

If you’re curious, Julie is always happy to share what she’s learned—and help you discover the path to your best, most vibrant life.

Here's the Deal about Cancer-

When my late husband was diagnosed with brain cancer, our lives changed forever. Thrust into a world of uncertainty, we quickly realized how little guidance there was for combining conventional treatments with supplemental or alternative approaches. Through research, trial, and perseverance, we discovered that healing is possible when you take your body’s needs seriously and support it every day with the right nutrition, mindset, and lifestyle choices.

This book was written to help others see that there are workable ways to approach cancer. It isn’t easy — but it’s doable. Building and maintaining your immune system is essential.

Understanding how different therapies work allows you to make educated decisions about what’s right for your body, rather than simply “trying” something and hoping for the best. Ask yourself: does this therapy reduce inflammation, remove toxins, block tumor growth, or strengthen my body’s natural defenses?

A cancer diagnosis is a wake-up call — not just to get through treatment, but to make lasting changes that help prevent recurrence. Your body has created an environment where cancer can exist; your task is to change that environment so it can no longer thrive. Complementary therapies may not guarantee survival, but they can dramatically improve your quality of life, giving you the strength and clarity to fully engage in the moments and people you love.

Cancer is not caused by one single thing, nor is there one single cure. It’s a combination of many factors gone wrong — and healing requires a combination of therapies, nourishment, and lifestyle adjustments that bring the body back into balance.

I share our story to shorten the learning curve for others facing this battle. The unknown is often the most frightening part, but through education and empowerment, you can take control of your journey. My hope is that what we learned will help you:

You don’t have to suffer through this alone or without options. Healing is possible — and you are capable of more than you think.

  • See a light at the end of the tunnel.

  • Feel empowered to create your own healing plan.

  • Find direction when it feels like there is none

  • Make informed decisions instead of desperate ones.
